Yes, the service itself is free. Standard message rates from your mobile provider may still apply.
Is it confidential?
Conversations are private. If there is ever a serious risk to your safety or someone else's, our team follows a clear safeguarding process — we'll always be upfront about that.
Is this the same as therapy?
No. Text it LOUD is active-listening support, not psychotherapy, diagnosis, or medical treatment. We can help you find those services if you're looking for them.
What if it's an emergency?
Please call 999 or go to A&E if you or someone else is in immediate danger. Text it LOUD is not a replacement for emergency services.
Who are the operators?
Trained active-listening volunteers and staff, supervised by our clinical team.
Can I text more than once?
Yes — text LOUD whenever you need to, as many times as you need.
